If You Want Help….

My Thoughts: Sometimes help doesn’t come unless you ask. Walking back through Matthew for strength.

Spend Time With Jesus

“For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:8

Closing Prayer: Father, I thank you for the reminder that we need to continue to look in your word for the answers we seek when we are in over our head. I’m making my way back to you, LORD, and I am so grateful that you are always there waiting for me. Lord, thank you for taking my worries so my mind is at ease. Thank you for the promise that no matter what I walk through today you are with me. When the dark words are rained down in bitterness today, give me your precious words of praise to stop them before they damage my heart and mind. I belong to you LORD and not to the darkness that wants to steal me and throw me in the pit. I am not hopeless, I have hope because I am yours. In the name of Jesus clothe me today in your promises. Amen

  2. Spending time with God is so important for our spiritual life. Jesus demonstrated how necessary it is to spend alone time with Father. Jesus is our paradigm, If He did it we should do it. Just like with anything in our lives we must prioritize our alone time with God. If tomorrow we had an job interview, we would make every effort to show up. So, why would we postpone our appointment with God? It is because we are “too busy”. The enemy specializes in “distractions.” The devil gets us distracted with other things to get our focus off God. We must ask God to increase our desire to show up and meet with Him.

  4. I used to have trouble asking God for specific help for myself. I was plagued by the feeling that it was selfish, that I should only be asking him to help others. But He knows what is bothering me, and I should not be afraid to present it to Him.

    • I did this too and I worried there were so many who needed Jesus more I shouldn’t bother him. But I learned Jesus delights in our prayers; all of them. Thank you for sharing the thoughts of your heart. You have blessed me.
